D-Day

Well Adam and I got the news yesterday, as of December 1st he will be "boots on the ground" in Afgahnistan. As his last tour he will be deployed for 6 months. This came a little sooner than his shop and him were expecting, last we heard before our honeymoon was he was "tapped" to deploy but probably wouldn't leave until after the 1st of the year. Well, looking on the bright side, now he will be back earlier in the year in 2011. Along with this, he will be away for a month of training prior to deployment.

We have a lot to figure out before he deploys, but we will get it done. :)

As for other news on our end, we made some of our first big purchases the past weekend. We ordered a new bedroom suit (which I am waiting on right now to be delivered) and bought a klick klack (similar to a futon) for the office/guest room when we have visitors.

This weekend we worked on tearing up the backyard (all 200 square feet of it) and planting new grass. I think we should have waited, it has been raining pretty good since Monday and we have washouts.

Our house is slowly coming together. Below are pictures of our townhouse, living room and dining only... the upstairs is still a work in progress and will upload pictures as soon as we get our bedroom suit in place and boxes out of the office.

I will be traveling back to Indiana this weekend for work next week...lets hope Harper survives another 10 hour drive!

Back to Reality

Well Adam and I are all back from the wedding and honeymoon and settling in our new place in Virginia. Dominican Republic was very pretty, but it is nice to be back in a country with people who speak and understand English.
It is quite a process getting everything set up how you like it, but its been enjoyable. So far we have the living room and kitchen pretty well ready to go (minus wall decor). The big task is master bedroom and office/guest room. We bought a klick klack last night (like a futon) for the office/guest rooom so we now have a place for guests to sleep. Next task in there is getting my desk set up and organized, working this week has been difficult.
As some may know I got a little "Welcome to VA present" the other night. Adam and I were goin to Dairy Queen (my first driving experience with Adam giving directions) and as I was turning left into the Dairy Queen (on a left arrow stopped in the medium) another Camry hit the driver's side front of my car. It has all been turned into insurance, but I am afraid it is going to be a no-fault claim. There were others infront of the lady taht went around us and she turned right into us making a U-turn and after the cop got there he informed me that you can't turn left into the Dairy Queen there (even though there is nothing indicating you can't and it is the only thing on the left side of the road for that arrow... I guess the arrow is for U-turns????). The officer also made it sound as if this was not the first time such an incident has happened. Oh well, it is al up to insurance now, guess that is what you have it for.

Below are some pictures from the honeymoon. We went on a dune buggy tour and will upload those pictures once I get them developed. Also, pictures of our house are coming as soon as it all comes together.
